MMC and Fuso Apology
June 2, 2004. Japan Times reported that 29 employees were 'punished' by Mitsubishi Fuso. The names of only two of those punished were disclosed -- operating officers Hisashi Watanabe and Mikiya Ota, who were to have their salaries cut by 30% for three months. 4 senior managers were suspended from work for 5 days. Another 4 senior managers' salaries were cut by 50% for one day. 19 other employees were ordered to submit a letter of apology each. The truck and bus maker stressed that these 'punishments' were in conformance to Labor Standards Law.
